I thought I needed new brake pads but after tire rotation they said I still had lots of time before they were considered needing to be replaced. Thank you for honoring the Byford oil change contract for my 2015 Tahoe.

I arrived at Merit Chevrolet, without an appointment. A young lady came out and took information. I went to the waiting area. I didn't time the time I waited. I was surprised when I was told my car was ready. The oil was changed and a recalled part was replaced. All good.

My 2018 GMC Sierra 2500’s windshield wiper fluid stopped working in Kansas while on a trip from Nebraska back to Oklahoma. We stopped at a dealership there to check on it. They diagnosed it as the windshield wiper fluid pump had gone out. We decided not to have it fixed right then because it was going to take a little longer than 2 hours to fix we were told. We also thought it was covered under our extended warranty which we purchased through Byford GMC, now Merit Chevrolet. When we got home, I brought it into Byford to get fixed. I explained what the Kansas dealership had diagnosed about the faulty pump. I also reminded them that I had an extended warranty. They took it back and instead of replacing it, blew the lines out. That worked for a few hours but then stopped working again. I brought it back and asked them to please just replace the pump. This time they replaced the spray nozzles. That cost $100 for the deductible on the extended warranty. Once again, they didn’t replace the pump as I had requested. That was 6 days before we moved back to Nebraska. I had explained we were moving to the service department rep Patrick Jordan. That’s the same person I dealt with previously. Well once again the fluid stopped working almost immediately. We didn’t have time to bring it in again because we were so busy with the move. I took it to Meyer Automotive in Nebraska. They replaced the pump this time...finally. It worked perfectly and has for the last couple months. I called back to Byford that day and talked to Mr. Jordan. I asked him to refund the $205.16 that I spent to get it fixed. He refused and said I never told him about the pump. I said he was not being honest. He finally said his manager would verify that I had never told him about the pump. His manager was never in any of the discussions or even around the discussions about the pump so that was another lie. I’m a retired Army Officer and owned a business in Duncan. I was a very respected member of the community. I purchased a $70k vehicle from them and had been extremely happy with my interactions with Byford. We were even considering purchasing another vehicle from them this year. I was prepared to drive down from Nebraska to do it because I really liked the way we were treated prior to this. Over $205.16 and more importantly Mr Jordan’s dishonesty, I will look elsewhere for any future purchases. We visited this week and Merit Chevrolet has still retained him as a service advisor. I’d highly recommend that Merit look elsewhere for a more honest employee. What a shame!

While you do a good job on the actual service, the attempt at the up sell is laughable. For example, to change a cabin air filter (the actual filter is less than $10 at the store), I was offered the replacement at a charge of about $50. I would have agreed to the cost if the charge was reasonable. I have many more examples from over the years, this is just one.
